PREPARING FOR YOUR NEW DOG

Being prepared for your new dog includes getting a leash, collar, bed, and some good quality food. Being prepared for your dog also means getting educated about how to establish an effective dog/human relationship. Dog training works two ways—either you train the dog or the dog trains you! We highly recommend that you go to the Dog Whisperer website and click on the link below to read and learn how to be a pack leader so you can train your dog to be the best dog s/he can be. Each of the sublinks is located on either the right or left of the website. Please have all family members of reading age review this material, and as a family set up a strategy to provide consistent leadership for your new dog. You will be rewarded with a happy dog and far fewer problem behaviors to deal with later. The book below can be purchased on line or at local booksellers and is a valuable resource for you.
